36 MILLER / DECEMBER 2018 NEWS Perdue Agribusiness to open organic grain facility Perdue AgriBusiness, a division of Perdue Farms, an- nounced a $30 million investment to open an organic grain receiving and storage facility at Tradepoint Atlantic in eastern Baltimore County to meet the ri- sing demand for organic feed ingredients for Perdue Foods and other companies in the region. The facility will also include grain and oilseed processing/milling and support more than 25 new jobs. “Tradepoint Atlantic at the Port of Baltimore is ideally located to re- ceive grain and supply organic customers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region,” said Dick Willey, president, Perdue AgriBusiness. “We work directly with local far- mers and traders in the United States, Europe, South America, and Asia to source organic grain and soybe- ans. This new complex will be a key part of an integrated supply chain that enables us to increase business and reduce the cost while maintaining the quality of our or- ganic products.” Perdue is the leading producer of USDA certified organic chicken and the Perdue brand is the num- ber one brand of chicken in the U.S. Perdue AgriBusiness sources, purchases, and processes agricultural commodities and offers a diverse portfolio of products, including grains, soybean meal, feed ingredients, and edible oils. In a sign of the strength of the organic food industry, Perdue AgriBusiness, a division of Perdue Farms, announced Monday that it will build a $30 million organic grain receiving and storage facility at Tradepoint Atlantic in eastern Baltimore County in Maryland. Taking part in many fairs in Turkey and abroad, Çift Kartal attended the fair and conference organized by US-based International Association of Operative Millers between 22 and 26 October 2018 in Kenya in order to diversify the com- pany’s market. Both invitee and participant, Cihangir Fikri Saatçioğlu, Deputy CEO of Çift Kartal Group, said that the African market will be important for Tur- kish companies in coming period.
