38 NEWS MILLER / NOVEMBER 2019 Sad loss for Turkish milling industry Abdulkerim Selek, Genc Degirmen CEO and Konyaspor Football Club Executive Board Mem- ber, passed away. He was a prominent and well-known figure among business circles as the owner of Genc Degirmen A.S. He was also a famous personality within Turkish sports world. A large crowd of businessmen, politicians and sportsmen paid a final farewell to Abdulkerim Se- lek in Konya. After religious ceremony at Haciveyis Mosque, he was buried at Ucler Cemetery. Konyaspor Coach Aykut Koca- man also attended the funeral. As Parantez Group and Miller Magazine, we also pray God to rest his soul. Abdulkerim Selek was born in 1976 in Konya province. He completed his secondary education at Private Lale High School in Kon- ya. He graduated from Education Faculty of Konya Selcuk Univer- sity and obtained an MBA degree from the same university. He was active in the business world since he was a university student. He had been the CEO of the Genc Degirmen since 1999. He is survived by his wife and 2 children. Abdulkerim Selek, Genc Degirmen CEO and Konyaspor Executive BoardMember, passed away at the age of 43. He was a prominent figure among business circles in Turkey and particularly in Konya city, the heartland of Turkish milling industry.
