30 NEWS MILLER / december 2020 Omas Industries will build a new, innovative and cutting-edge food complex in the dis- trict of Neamt, Romania. A business agreement is signed for the supply of a large milling plant of 150 T/24h, which will be completed by 2021. Omas to built a cutting-edge milling complex in Romania “The new plant will enable to modify the milling flow sheet according to the cereal quality, to produce diffe- rent types of the final product automatically thanks to DD (Direct Drive) and Flexy Mill technologies,” the Italian company said in its press release. “Our company, as usu- al, was able to develop a ‘tailor-made’ with its distinctive elements allowing to widen the finished products range with ease of management and cost reduction. Technology has always distinguished Omas machines from the com- petition and creates competitive advantages in reducing operating costs for the customer”. “The excellent relati- onship with the customers and Omas’ flexibility have led to the signature of an important contract ‘brown fields’, which will see the restoration of an existing building that will be modernized and made operational again.” “We are honored by this agreement and it’s a pleasure that our customer has understood the potential of our te- chnology, unique in the world. We consider this Flexy Mill the first of a series of mills in Central Europe that, looking to the future, will choose Direct Drive (DD) machines to eliminate transmission belts and the problems they cau- se!” notes Pietro Barbalarga, Omas’ Commercial Director. Sergio Dipasquale, Chief miller who has taken part in the Commercial Mission, has claimed: “A ‘tailor-made’ milling plant specific to the customer's requests, which will obtain the flexibility and high yields required by large-sca- le distribution thanks to the DD technology. We are ready for this new challenge!” Pete Frederick named President and CEO of Grain Craft Grain Craft announced that the G&L Holdings Board of Directors has appointed Pete Frederick as President and Chief Executive Officer effecti- ve November 16, 2020. Frederick currently hol- ds the role of Grain Craft’s President. Frederick is focused on establishing and directing both the strategic and financial goals of the company whi- le providing visionary leadership for growth. He will also continue to serve as a critical pacesetter for the company’s high-performance culture. Frederick has held the position of President since the acquisition of Cereal Food Processors and the formation of the Grain Craft in May 2014. Prior to the establishment of Grain Craft, Pete was President of Milner Milling and Pend- leton Flour Mills, a role which he was appointed to in 2012. “Pete has deep industry experience and a proven track re- cord of strong leadership,” said Charlie Stout, Chairman of Grain Craft.” “He was instrumental in the for- mation of Grain Craft and seamlessly led the merger of the three companies. He recognizes the challenges we must confront and the stren- gths we already possess to continue to make Grain Craft a leader in the flour milling industry.” A veteran of the flour milling industry for over 35 years, Frederick began his career with Cargill in 1986 where he held various product line and sales management positions. He joined Milner Milling and Pendleton Flour Mills in 2004 where he assumed the vice president of Sales position. Frederick is currently the co-chair of the Grain Foods Foundation and on the executive board of the North American Millers Association. He has held board positions with the Allied Trades of the Baking Industry and was the co-chair for the Executive Leadership Development Committee of the American Baker’s Association. Pete Frederick
