On September 17-18th in Odessa (Ukraine), the largest na- tional food safety event was dedicated to the topic of HACCP - the 2nd All-Ukrainian Congress "FOOD SAFE- TY-2021: test of system efficiency". Tatiana Litvinenko, the auditor for certification of management systems at Cotecna Ukraine, was one of the leading speakers at the event. In her report, she presented on conducting an internal audit of food safety systems and talked about topical issues in implementing the HACCP System and the assessment of suppliers. As Tatiana explained, such events also help give businesses up-to-date knowledge in the context of legal and regulatory requirements and a vast opportunity to exchange experiences. According to Arina Korchmaryova, Vice President of the Cotecna Group for the Baltic and Black Seas Region, "in addition to meeting regulatory requirements, certifi- cation to the food safety management system gives the industry enterprises tangible competitive advantages - it increases consumer confidence in manufactured prod- ucts, opens up the opportunity to enter new, internation- al markets, offers additional benefits when participating in important tenders, increases investment attractive- ness, and creates a reputation as a manufacturer of high-quality and safe food products". As a leading international expert on the quality and safety of agri-food products, and a consultant of the FAO on best international practices and projects, Arina high- lights that Ukraine made big progress in the implemen- tation of the HACCP system in recent years. Such mea- sures have helped to increase food safety and improve the country's image as a supplier of quality agriculture and food products. Cotecna Ukraine plans to continue to actively promote and support the development of a safe food market in Ukraine.
