According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Canadian production of wheat, corn, barley and oats is forecast to increase 30 per- cent to 58 million tonnes. The agriculture and agri-food sector is a major con- tributor to the Canadian economy. It is one of the sec- tors with the highest economic growth potential in the country. The success of the Canadian agriculture sector depends heavily on their ability to export. Canada is the fifth-largest exporter of agri-food and seafood in the world, exporting to over 200 countries.
